Launched in April 2015, Firkin Gin is made in batches (by an undisclosed Scottish distiller) of around 250 bottles. It is distilled with 4 botanicals (juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and orris root) and then aged for around 3 mouths in American oak whisky casks. (A firkin is a type of cask.) Read more

Clean, golden amber.
Pungent spicy resinous pine, eucalyptus and hay. Faint hints of smoky bacon/ Frazzles crisps. Water reveals lemon barley water and crushed mint leaves.
Piney juniper, dry toasty oak, warming spice and faint mint.
Bark and smouldering wood with lingering aniseed and warming spice.
A big assertive gin with a high bottling strength amplifying dry oak tannins from oak aging – perhaps for too long, or in under seasoned casks.
