Comment:

Cream and a touch of rich dark chocolate smooth scotch whisky and gin without smothering them. This may be a creamy drink but it remains 'serious' and far from being a sweetie.

Origin:

A Prohibition-era cocktail (1920-1933) of unknown origin, the term Barbary Coast referred to a nine-block area was cantered around Pacific Street (now Pacific Avenue) between Montgomery and Stockton Streets, which during the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries was a red-light district popular with sailors.
