Bar Convent Berlin, BCB for short, is by many considered the main cocktail event of the year.
In 2017 it was held for the 11th time with over 12000 visitors.
With Berlin serving as the backdrop to undoubtedly the largest cocktail convention of Europe, Bar Convent Berlin returned in 2017.
With over 1000 brands representing and several seminar spaces, it is no wonder why it is dubbed "bartender Christmas". Whether one was looking for inspiration, new products, reconnect with those they know but lacked the details, or just to meet friends and colleagues from all over the world, BCB has always provided the central hub.
This year also saw a continued support in the beer and coffee world, plus highlighting this year's focus country products: France. In addition there was a "speed dating" platform for young brands searching for importers.
Apart from the two-day event there were of course many parties in the evening throughout the city.
A challenge this year was the shortage of entry tickets, part because bar industry folks love to wait until the last moment to get them, part due to strict German floor regulations, and part simply due to its groing popularity.
However, a consort of brands were able to put together a side event for those without tickets, and the organization hopes that expanding the event with an extra day should alleviate things for 2018.
In 2018 BCB will expand to Brooklyn, New York to cater the US needs as well as the European.
All in all a must-see event with simply too much to grasp in the time given and we hope to drop by again next year!
