Last Thursday 11 October the first iconic step in this new Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition year was set, the shift from all submitted recipes to a “Top Ocho” of best drinks. So, without further ado.. THIS IS THE TOP OCHO

All submitted cocktails were judged by Vitaly Alekseyev (Bacardi Legacy National Winner 2017), My-hoa Nguyen (Trade Ambassador Bacardi), Ingmar Voerman (Difford’s Guide NL) and Joy Obergh (Activation Manager Bacardi).

The judges came together at Bar Feijoa in Amsterdam to select the best drinks on: balance, taste and aroma and came to an unanimous decision after tasting and discussing.

The Top 8 bartenders who will compete against each other on Wednesday October 31st during the Regional Finals are:

Wouter Bosch – Rosalia’s Menagerie
Rachel Bonnewell – Rosalia’s Menagerie
Thomas Datema – House Bar
Cecile Fayn – Flying Dutchmen Cocktails
Sandro Ivanić – Bar TwentySeven
Jeroen Scheerman – Bar TwentySeven
Ruud Steenbakkers
Raysa Straal – Bar Feijoa

Joy: "First, congratulations to you all! After the Regional Final we’ll know who of the 8 will be crowned as the 3 “Most Promising” bartenders for this year’s Legacy Competition. They will receive a presentation skill training and will go on a brand home trip to Puerto Rico!
Besides that, The 3 “Most Promising” bartenders will go into a full-on promotional campaign to make their cocktail famous."

"Bacardi would like to thank all bartenders that have taken the time and effort to create their unique Legacy cocktail this year. It is truly amazing to see so many wonderful creations every year again. Thank you!"
