Nick Des Enfants

Nick Des Enfants is a bar manager of an award winning bar in San Francisco. Nick was raised in Southern California, and moved to San Francisco in 2002 to attend college. While in school, he began working in Bay Area restaurants, and became enamoured with the passion and creativity of the exceptional local establishments.

In 2008 he moved to Elixir, an historic San Francisco Saloon, where he was trained and given the opportunity to refine his skills behind the stick. The journey has taken him from host to bar manager, and his greatest joy is pouring you a delightful drink.

Nick was a Finalist in the Peter F. Heering Sling Awards 2015.

“Cherry Herring is the principle ingredient for any Sling”

H. Joseph Ehrmann and Nick DesEnfants’ Yerba Buena Sling

Glass: Sling
Garnish: Mint sprig & maraschino cherry
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into ice-filled glass.

• 1½ oz Rye whiskey (preferably Sonoma County Distilling Rye)
• ¾ oz Cherry Heering
• ½ oz Ferrand dry curacao
• ½ oz Lemon juice
• ½ oz Pineapple juice
• 5 fresh Mint leaves
• 2 dash Dale DeGroff’s Pimento Bitters

Mixologist’s Notes:
This house spin on the classic Singapore Sling incorporates the Elixir way (“put whiskey in it!”) and plays off of the natural fit between rye whiskey and cherry notes. The mint provides a refreshing herbal quality that represents the original name of the city (Yerba Buena) as well as a local herb that once covered the land here.
