A most unlikely doorway between a kebab shop and newsagents leads to this most unusual basement bar. Paul Tvaroh, the enthusiastic owner and operator has stayed close to his roots and Lounge Bohemia is best described as serving a combination of classic and molecular mixology in an Eastern European communist era setting.
Czech newspapers line the walls of the stairwell which leads to a lounge with a clean, uncluttered 60s décor with cold war period furnishings set against a series of alcoves. There are no barstools and you will be shown to your reserved table where you will receive attentive service.
The spirits and beer selection is also influenced by Eastern Europe with an impressive range of Bohemian beers and the likes of Becherovka and Borovicka. Each of the key spirit categories is represented by just one brand but numerous expressions of each. Classic cocktails are superb but please be a little adventurous and try of Paul's molecular and out-there concoctions.
The presentation of each drink is a reflection of the attention to detail Paul has applied to this one man's dream of a place.
