If you were to cross a Tiki Bar with an American diner, then Tahiti would be the sort of joint you might expect.
The walls are decorated with canvases of hula girls, and the back bar has an impressive collection of monkey head jars. This traditional tiki decor is then combined with a juke box in the corner, a bright pink counter, and American diner-style bar stools - the decor's maybe a little confused, but in a way that's more endearing than offensive!
When we visited, Tahiti wasn't even one year old, but you couldn't guess it from the well-established cocktail menu. There were eighteen specific 'tiki' cocktails. From a Mai Tai to a Painkiller or a Suffering Bastard, Alfredo the bartender will be sure to mix you something to get your night off to a Tiki-tastic start.
The rest of the drinks menu was divided up into accessible headings: aperitifs, vodka, bourbon, rum, vermouth, tequila, brandy and cava based drinks. Although Tahiti mightn't look like much from the street, it's a good place to kick off a night alongside Baraclona's young, in crowd.
