This offshoot of the regarded Belgravia club brings its mix of Scotch 'n' jazz to Canary Wharf with a vast venue spread over two floors.
The first floor has a crustacean and cocktail bar, serving cocktails and champagne principally, and a members' outdoor heated terrace, both of which have a commanding view over Cabot Square, and restaurant tables. There's also a humidor with pre-revolutionary Cuban cigars - smoking indoors is permitted as it's technically a 'sampling room', though you must purchase the cigar on site.
Upstairs on the second floor is a monumental bar showcasing some 600-odd whiskies, cabaret-style restaurant tables and a stage for live jazz (performances every night). It's all bedecked in rugs, with modern art and classic jazz photography - apart from the tartan carpets and stuffed wild animals from the Highlands and Islands, it's thankfully fairly free of Scottish clichés.
The whisky collection is largely made up of single malts - Boisdale has worked with thewhiskyexchange.com to source some hard-to-find and mothballed distilleries and the selection is overwhelming. This second floor bar is also home to a superb cocktail menu and is staffed by some accomplished bartenders.
If all that were not enough, Jools Holland is a regular performer here.
