Originally a sister tiki bar project to the large and appropriately named 'Tiki bar', Aloha bar is a slightly smaller and more authentically inspired tiki bar. Much more of the Trader Vic and Don Beach influence is visible here, with a large element of bamboo, Polynesian-styled surf boards, masks and a large shark adorning the walls.
That said, this venue has a few surprises: Firstly, it isn't where you would expect to see such an amount of barrel-aged cocktails or such a collection of rums in the first floor cabinet. There's also Moscow's largest interior waterfall and even a live TV channel broadcasting from a booth in the back. But then again, all great Tiki bars should leave you at least a little bit short of words.
The drinks are all very good interpretations on tiki classics as well as a few modern classics such as a great take on the Soulshaker's Jolly Roger. The house Mai Tai and their Jet Pilot would not be out of place if served up at the Mai Kai in Florida.
