Bentley Bar occupies the basement of Entrée restaurant (look for the big E sign) and brings a New York-influenced bar to Battersea Rise, with all the hallmarks of modern mixology Big Apple-style - tin ceiling, tiled floor, white marble tables. An Art Deco piano (pianists play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday), music from the jazz age when the piano's not being played and a huge print of the New York skyline completes the speakeasy tribute, if you hadn't realised already.

Cocktails are served in beautiful, eclectic glassware and are divided into Aperitifs, Exotic and Timeless classifications on the well-balanced list, all being classically influenced or just plain classics, extending from big boy spirituous combinations to lighter, longer and frutier serves - all good value with most at £7.50. Bartender's Choice is priced at the even more recession-friendly price of £6.50. Wines are available by the glass, carafe and bottle and modern European small plates are available to snack on too.

A sound sense of hospitality, an immersive drinking experience and well-executed drinks make this, together with Powder Keg, one of the area's best - and most refined - bars, although if you're looking for a party atmosphere you'd best head back down the road to Dime Bar, run by Bentley's owner's brother.
