Americano Rosso is perhaps best described as tasting like a classic red Italian bitter liqueur (e.g. Campari) mellowed by sweet vermouth (e.g. Martini Rosso). Indeed, some of the cocktails below (e.g. Less is More Negroni and Casa Savoia Boulevardier) are basically renditions of the respective classic cocktails with Americano Rosso replacing these two ingredients - less could well equal more!
Casa Savoia Boulevardier
With: Savoia Americano Rosso and bourbon whiskey.
We say: A delicious riff on a Boulevardier with just two ingredients.
Casa Savoia Garibaldi
With: Savoia Americano Rosso and orange juice.
We say: The success of this cocktail is reliant upon your oranges and how you fluff their juice. Fluff well and this is delicious.
Casa Savoia Spritz
With: Savoia Americano Rosso and prosecco sparkline wine.
We say: Easy-drinking and delicately bittersweet.
D&B Shakerato
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, grapefruit juice, honey syrup and saline solution.
We say: Delicately bittersweet and sweet 'n' sour with honeyed zesty grapefruit.
Faithfulness
With: Dry gin, Savoia Americano Rosso, agave syrup and Moscato d'Asti wine.
We say: Bittersweet and Negroni-like with floral rose-like notes.
Garibaldino
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, Italicus, tangerine juice, tonka bitters and white grape and apricot soda.
We say: Fruity and refreshing yet complex and fairly dry with underlying bitterness
Less is More Negroni
With: Savoia Americano Rosso and dry gin
We say: Looks like a Negroni, tastes like a very good and interesting Negroni, yet only has two ingredients.
Mission Bell
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, mezcal, pink grapefruit liqueur, cranberry juice, honey syrup and margarita bitters.
We say: Bittersweet grapefruit and mezcal with honeyed roundness.
Murano Negroni
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, dry gin, hazelnut liqueur and saline solution.
We say: Merest hint of hazelnut liqueur makes this relatively light and approachable Negroni.
Pinky Negroni
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, dry gin, dry vermouth, rose petal liqueur and fino sherry.
We say: Bittersweet and delicately floral.
S 'n' Emm
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, mezcal and amaro.
We say: On the bitter side of bittersweet but eases with dilution that comes with contemplative consumption.
Savoia Plane
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, mezcal, Yellow Chartreuse, lemon juice, honey syrup, peychauds, saline solution.
We say: Delicately smoky tart citrus enriched by subtle herbal complexity. A freshening aperitivo.
Sips Sgroppino
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, Italicus, raspberry sorbet and prosecco sparkling wine
We say: A rich raspberry bomb of a desert cocktail with delicate underlying bitterness. Very moreish.
Tirreno
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, dry gin, fino sherry, ginger syrup and filter coffee.
We say: Although it only makes up a small proportion of the cocktail, coffee greatly influences the flavour.
Vivi
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, Italicus liqueur, olive lemonade and olive bitters.
We say: Meaning 'alive' in Italian, Vivi is bittersweet with pleasing savoury olive notes.
A Dream to Be
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, whiskey, elderflower liqueur, Green Chartreuse and grenadine syrup.
We say: Adapted from a recipe created in 2016 by Leon Back at Panda and Sons.
Adelaide
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, dry gin, pure cane sugar syrup, orange bitters, lavender bitters and saline solution.
We say: Bittersweet and delicately gin-laced.
L'Americano
With: Savoia Americano Rosso and soda water.
We say: Delicately bittersweet and low in alcohol but generously flavoured.
L'Americano Moderno
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, orange bitters and elderberry and hibiscus soda.
We say: Bittersweet with deep herbal and floral flavours.
VerMillion Fizz
With: Savoia Americano Rosso, sloe gin and lemon tonic.
We say: Lemon tonic and bitter notes from the American cut through rich berry notes to add balance to this Aperitivo
