There are 1,000s of cocktails with "Martini" in their name on Difford's Guide, and the majority are not actually true Martinis, at least going by the Oxford English Dictionary definition of "a cocktail made from gin and dry vermouth." Indeed, some of the most popular "Martinis", such as the Espresso Martini, Porn Star Martini and French Martini, don't contain any gin or vermouth.
These imposter Martinis are arguably what fuelled the late-1990s cocktail renaissance and still often outcompete mighty classics such as the Margarita, Daiquiri and Negroni.
Using our Cocktail Finder (on 19.Apr.25), I searched for cocktails containing the word Martini and then sorted these by "Community rating" to produce the following Martini ranking.
