Reseña y cata

Apariencia

(combined notes from batches No.3 and No.4) Clear and transparent.

Aroma

Overripe banana and piney juniper, tropical fruit, celery salt, sage, cinnamon, nuts, zesty citrus and lavender. (Batch No.3 accentuates banana and batch No.4 lavender.)

Gusto

Faint sweetness and an almost creamy mouthfeel. Black pepper spice and saltiness slightly overwhelms fruity juniper and subtler notes on the nose. (Batch No.3 is saltier – a tad too salty while batch No.4 has more citrus.)

Regusto

Freshly cracked black pepper leads the long finish with lingering saltiness. (Not as salty in batch No.4)

General

Beautiful packaging and attention to detail such as a small sea shell in the box adds to this gins appeal. For ‘coastal’ read salty and indeed this Dutch gin does have a slightly saline flavour. The nose has very appealing overripe banana juniper aromas but these are masked by salt and pepper on the palate. Our notes and rating are averaged between batches No.3 and No.4. Batch No.5 could be a 5/5!
