This 100% agave tequila was double distilled in stainless-steel pot stills at Casa San Matiás Distillery using agave grown in the highlands Los Altos region near Arandas village. The distillate was then aged for 23 months in American oak barrels previously used to age Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon. Seguir leyendo
Clear, pale golden.
Cinnamon, black pepper, praline, vanilla and nutmeg. Very faint mocha coffee.
Strong oak influence with bourbon whiskey notes from the barrel also pronounced. Caramel, butterscotch and vanilla with powerful peppery spice.

Old Rip Van Winkle Barrels heavily influence this spicy tequila – dry oak and whiskey, with praline and caramel. At 23 mouths’ old this is almost a double añejo.
