I upped the gin by a quarter- US ounce, and dialed back the Cointreau by the same. Next time I think I'll make it as written; the gin was just a tad bit too assertive.

Overall, my favorite drink of this genre remains the Cactus Banger.

Balanced and tasty without actually being interesting.

This or a sidecar is my go-to for using up the inevitable couple of half oranges at end of shift.

It's all about the orange juice. My sister had a juice-orange tree in south Florida until the blight got to it years ago. I've never tasted better. This is the standard I use when considering cocktails containing orange juice. The better your juice, the better this drink will be. It's an excellent recipe!

This is not a particularly exciting cocktail, but holds a special place in my heart as one of my first cocktail books was “The Stork Club Bar Book” which has a lot of color and editorializing.

One of the great classic cocktail books. I've added a quote with the recipe from the book.

Respectfully, this drink is not attractive. Serve it over crushed ice in a double old fashioned to make it look like Henry Cavill.

Agree tastes like a gin screwdriver. Nothing special.

This is very, very good. Reminds me a bit of a gin based Screwdriver. You do get the herbal hints from the gin, and flavours blend wonderfully together.

I really enjoyed this, a very well balanced sour. Very citrusy and refreshing. This is going to be a summer staple for me!

Had a go at this with both bottled fresh orange juice, and freshly squeezed orange juice. There was quite a noticeable difference between the two, so I would really recommend using freshly squeezed to keep the balance.
