Salmon pink in colour. Mezcal adds earthy smoky complexity to this bittersweet, citrusy fresh, aperitivo Last Word riff. And indeed, getting naked can...
I had been making this with Del Maguey Vida, which is one of only two available locally, but managed to get a bottle of the Del Maguey Chichicapa that is called for in Joaquín Simó’s original recipe. The latter was marginally better, very similar. Both made for an excellent drink.
Absolutely love this cocktail (and the whole family) it works beautifully together. Simon please can you add (Laura Bishops's) Almost Famous to the site which uses Jamaican Overproof instead of Mezcal - just tried and it's superb!
Fabulous. I made it with a joven and Strega instead of yellow Chartreuse (a contradiction of terms). Dialed back the lime a tad. Delicious. The Missus loved it, too.
My favourite cocktail. Was running low on yellow chartreuse so substituted it out for green chartreuse. I can firmly say that this isn't a swap I'll be trying again.
We liked it but thought it was a little on the sweet side. I upped the mezcal and the lime and love it. Now we call that combo the “More Naked and Less Famous.”
This has become a complete favoutite. I ran out of ice this last timr, so I used frozen berries to cool the drink and the extra juicy tartness really added a nice element.
I love this cocktail, as it's a balance that doesn't look like it should work when you read it, but it most definitely does in the glass! This cocktail was created as a riff on Sam Ross' modern classic, The Paper Plane (which itself was a riff on the Last Word.) I just wanted to mention that here for the sake of credit being given where due. :)

One of the top concoctions highlighting the pleasures of yellow Chartreuse. Less sweet (surprisingly) than its wonderful green Chartreuse cousin, Last Word.
Have also made it with Campari instead of Aperol. Also delicious.
