3 copies bought, one for me, one for the 30th wedding anniversary of hugely valued friends and one for our son and his wonderful girlfriend for Christmas. Ours is used every Friday evening and has been a great boost to our enjoyment of life.
Hi Thảo, please could you send an email to us at hello@diffordsguide.com and we will reply to you with information including a shipping quote to Vietnam. Thank you!
I purchased the latest edition of the book (French version) and I notice that many recipes in the book differ from those on the website, particularly in terms of quantity or alcohol suggestions. Which version of the recipes should I take seriously?
Hey Simon, i’m a new “wanna be Bartender” and an absolutely beginner. I already ordered the 17th Edition of your book, yet i find it hard for a beginner to start with it. That’s why I took the decision to attend a bartender course/seminar/workshop. Still I can’t decide which one of the various options I need to choose. Do you maybe have a suggestion for me what could be the best bartending course to start with?
I would very appreciate it!
I've not experienced any bartending courses to be in a position to recommend one over another. One of the main factures may prove to be what's available near you. Many thanks for buying our book.
I'm still working on it. When we send it to press, it takes five to six weeks before we receive delivery. As soon as we're finished and have a print date then I'll be able to predict when we'll be able to start selling copies.
Hopefully before the end of the year, but it is going to be even thicker as I've so much to add - why it's taking me so long. Print cost will be much higher so sadly the price will also have to rise.
Question: I bought my first copy on Amazon because of ease of access. I’d like to buy a second copy for my dad. I’m in the USA. Is it better to purchase through your website? I’d like to support yall better since I’m enjoying the content and can’t purchase much due to my location. I’d order bar ware and alcohol if we didn’t have such random laws state to state.
Hi Amarette, the shipping costs from UK to USA if you buy from our website are really high (about the same as the book itself as it's so chunky and we use a reliable priority service). To make it more cost-effective for our American friends we decided to use Amazon and ship pallets into the US. You'll be supporting us either way...thank you!
Hi Simon, curious why the June bug is no longer in the Guide?
I went from the 8th to the 17th edition and it had disappeared (it's my girlfriend's favourite)
Due to page views and ratings, I thought the June Bug and green melon liqueur had fallen out of fashion. I have to remove some cocktails to make way for the new ones. Even then, our book seems to get thicker with each edition. You'll still find the June Bug on this site.
Hi Simon
looking to buy this for Fathers day but dont want to buy it to then be gazumped by 18th edition as that would upset him....when is 19th edition planned ??
Cheers
Sadly we're not in control of Amazon...the books are with them but not yet for sale on amazon.de. We have spent hours on the phone with them today and they are still having 'technical problems' ??♀️ Easier to order directly from us!
Hi Simon I am a lecturer at Westminster Kingsway College in Victoria London. I have my students use your website as a reference for their training and to develop their weekly cocktail offer for our guest. Hopefully they will continue to use your website when they leave to work in the industry. Please feel free to stop by and say hi next time you are in London.
I think I'll hold out for the 18th Edition - we're still working our way through the 16th! But congratulations - everyone who has seen your book here loves it!
Hmmm, unhappy that I just laid out a bucket of cash to get the 16th edition plus postage to Oz a couple of months ago. Is there any way I could get a pamphlet or booklet of just the additional 300 cocktails? Not serious and not seriously mad either I love 16th ed. Just sad I can't spare the funds for another load of shipping for another half-ton book. Or the space for it really. Actually, having said that you might consider an update for people who bought a full one with just the added drinks
Many thanks for purchasing our 16th edition (which is still available at the old price – cheaper than the 17th edition). Sales of these books help fund this site where all the cocktails in the books, plus 1000s more, are available free of charge. And for those reading these comments who are considering buying our 17th edition – BEWARE – there will be an 18th edition but probably not before 2024.
We update and bring out new editions when I have collected sufficient good new cocktail recipes and according to sales of the previous edition. It's worked out once a year for the past 2 editions but we have slipped back a few months each year so I very much doubt I'll manage to publish the 18th edition until well into 2024.
