I like Campari. I like the heftier Negroni-adjacents (eg Commedia all'Italiana). For the Belafonte, though, I prefer a minor tweak to the recipe to rebalance the Campari to more of a supporting role. 35ml porto blanco, 25ml campari, 100ml tonic.
If you've been drinking Americanos or Bicicletas, you should also be drinking the Belafonte. Fruity from the white port, bitter (and great color) from the Campari - the tonic water ratio stretches the drink, diluting it more that the Americano or Bicicleta while preserving the central flavors. A great and low abv refresher!
