Wonderful cocktail. I agree with other drinkers wrt lime being better than lemon. I tried with Smith and Cross and with OFTD. Both are great, but S&C is just amazing.

Lovely drink. Sweet and tart. Made this for a large group of people and everyone enjoyed it. Cynar is a favorite of mine and it really finds its place in this drink. I used a little bit less of the Saint Germain though as I find the perfuminess can get a bit much.

This one's a five star favorite of mine. Esters + almond + elderflower form a fruity foil to the robust bitter herbal complex. Superb sweet and sour balance. S&C, Cynar 70, St. Germain.

I was not a big fan of this drink. Maybe it was my specific ingredients (my lemon needed using up), but there was an unpleasantly bitter element to the swallow that I did not enjoy - something else than the expected bitterness from the Cynar. I'll have to revisit and update as appropriate. Otherwise, the drink starts off nicely enough, with rum funk and lemon tartness. I didn't really detect the elderflower at all.

Used Probitas, all my Overproofs are funk bombs and would otherwise destroy this delicate amazing concoction, Floated 30 ml fresh pineapple juice !

After seeing the recommendations for using lime instead of lemon I opted for that version instead.. and it was delicious. Well done.

A lovely drink, much greater than the sum of its parts. Flavors of dried fruit, almonds, and a bit of caramel. Aged brown liquor and Cynar have a real affinity for each other.

Definitely better with lime in my opinion. Still a marvelous cocktail that deserves much more love.

This has quickly become one of my favorite cocktails. It’s just so perfectly balanced, and I can never say no to orgeat! Tonight I discovered that it’s just as good (and dangerously smooth) with an ounce of 100 proof bourbon in place of the overproof rum…

That's a must-try! Thanx

Surprisingly delicate in terms of the flavors. I used Myers but it didn't dominate.

Prefer this one with lime, but either way it's a great drink.
