Made with ancho reyes verde and nosotros mezcal. A little dry to my palate but easily fixed. I opted for sal de gusano for the rim rather than tajin, and on a taste decided it could use an orange peel- not something I usually add to a margarita, but fitting with mezcal and sal de gusano. Flaming the peel complimented the smokiness nicely and even added a bit of up-front sweetness.
Really good and even better like this:
20 ml reposado tequila + 2 dash smoky chilli sauce
(preferred instead of 20 ml mezcal + 1 dash tabasco)
20 ml triple sec liqueur/Cointreau
20 ml Ancho Reyes Original
30 ml lime juice
10 ml agave sirup
"Delicately smoky and subtly spicy" is another perfect description. Classic Margarita taste with a hint of spice heat in the back of your palate and a light taste of smoke as you swallow. Very nice.
