For those also tentative about Fernet Branca because of its bitterness, the saline solution really helps suppress that making this a very balanced cocktail.

It’s more that it reminds me of the cough syrup we had at home ad kids! Sweet, minty and liquoricey. But I’m sure right about the saline. Enjoyed it the other night in a hocus pocus, where the strength and greater quantities of the other ingredients help to spread out the fernet flavours.
