Way too much lemon juice. Could be tasty if better balanced. Try same proportions of cognac & elderflower, but 1/2oz. of lemon juice.

Oh, Simon, I am so sorry! I meant to put this in my private notes section for the next time I make the drink, not the public comments. Many apologies. (But, yeah, the new proportions look tasty. HA.)

Agreed. I've cut the lemon but also upped the cognac a smidgeon. More booze, less juice! A very different but better cocktail.
