The medium martini doe not make it into either Shaken (The official 007 cocktail book) or Bond Cocktails (But I hadn't realised how often James asked for a Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred!!). I tried a Head to head with a Medium Martini (1922 recipe, Harry McElhone, quoted in the Martini Cocktail book) versus this recipe versus the Perfect Martini and , for me, the addition of the Orange bitters gives the Perfect Martini the edge.

Move over dry martinis - Flavour is back! Used a vermouth Di Torino and Dolin dry. Even with cheap Aldi gin there was plenty of flavour here. Orange twist was a perfect match

Thanks for the cute link. I really love the Daniel Craig casino Royale depiction - one for the aficionados!

I’m adding this one to my rotation for martinis. Overall nicely balanced and the orange zest is a great addition that adds to the experience.

Quite nice, shaken as per Simon’s recommendation. Gin is well balanced by the vermouth. Much less boozy tasting than a regular Martini.
