This reminds me of the elderflower sparkling wine my parents used to make in the 80ies. Nice elderflower aroma, and not too wine dominated.Not too sweet either. But this has a dearth of bubbles, so next time I'm going to use a sparkling wine, probably a Chardonnay.

With a sprig of mint, this goes from a 5 to a 5+!

In those proportions it tasted a bit sweet to me, so I added 5 ml of lemon juice and actually liked how it turned out.

Easy and straightforward. Can work with any kind of white wine. Perfect for a refreshing summer drink, perhaps even more than the Hugo because it's so much easier.

Works very well with M&S Elderflower Tonic Water and rather less of the St Germain.

In France a very similar drink is known as “le Hugo”
