Anniina brings her bar community together through an after-work event she has created where art, vintage, cocktails and good food come together over sharing stories within the community. Through her initiative Anniina creatively aims to raise awareness for mental health in her bar community.
"Lighter Clouds is an event where art, cocktails and good food come together. It's an after-work event for bartenders, which starts with a seminar. Invite only events with a different speaker and topic each time.
The First Lighter Clouds - event took place at Trillby & Chadwick, and the seminar speaker was a highly experienced teacher, principal, mountain climber, mother and professor. By experience, she went through her life story, including burnout. Telling her story, she helped our bartender community understand that to stay passionate and professional and do what we love, we might need to take breaks sometimes. And talking about it within the community helps.
Ligher Clouds is funded to create safer atmosphere among the bartender community. Talking about our daily difficulties prevents greater difficulties and maintains a healthier bartender community.
After the seminar, all the guests were invited to talk and hang around among art by Bogdan Lupu, vintage treasures by Vintage Events Helsinki and oysters by Donier Gastronomie. Cocktail Lighter Clouds is garnished with honey-cranberry foam to create laughter, as the foam creates a funny moustache on the guest. The foam in the cocktail also represents lighter clouds. Even if the clouds are sometimes dark and rainy, we can work together to create lighter clouds for everyone.
By allowing open talk about mental health in the bartender community, we are able to deliver our best hospitality to our friends, guests and mates in the industry. "
Lighter Clouds
50 ml Ketel One Family Made Vodka
10 ml Belsazar Rose Vermut
20 ml Lighter clouds cordial*
* Lighter clouds cordial
300g Water
50g Rose vinegar
100g Cranberries
100g Strawberries
3g Coriander seeds
0,7g Cayenne pepper
0,2g Black peppercorn
0,2g Seasalt
Sugar
Bring to boil and keep boiling for 30 minutes on a low heat.
Take off the heat, strain, and measure the liquid. Add an equal amount of sugar.
Stir until dissolved, then bottle.
