"One in a Million" is a platform that allows fellow bartenders to help document the stories of our predecessors and the rich history of the industry pioneers. It also allows bartenders to express themselves and highlight their ideas, approaches, and new cocktails.

An Open-Source Platform for Bartenders of All Generations
Ever since I became a bartender, I've felt a strong desire to pay tribute to the Japanese masters that paved the way for bartenders like myself. They are true legends but many of their stories have yet to be documented. It's more than a sense of respect. I firmly believe that understanding what these pioneers did before us makes us better bartenders. Therefore, I decided to start my Community Heroes initiative with the real heroes of my community. The first part of my plan is to create a platform that allows fellow bartenders to help document the stories of our predecessors. Bartenders have open access to the platform and are allowed to add and edit as they see fit. Together, we will document the rich history of the industry pioneers and the bars that shaped our culture.
Also within this platform is a place for bartenders to express themselves; to highlight their ideas, their approach, new cocktails, and so on. One of the greatest things about Japanese bartending is the mentoring philosophy that makes it more of an art form than a job. In this platform, I want my generation to take responsibility for the next generation, much like our mentors did for us, but through a community mentoring system that takes advantage of information sharing in a digital age.
My community portal will be free of charge and will generate content organically, by bartenders looking to help fellow bartenders. Because don't we all have a story to tell?
