One Drink One Bartender

Luis Inchaurraga is the Executive Bars Lead of Zoko Group in Madrid. His strength is education, given his long career where he's introduced over 800 people to the cocktail-making craft and hospitality industry through his school, House of Mixology. Luis wants to look local, to your everyday bartender, the one who pours the perfect pint or daiquiri and jokes with the regulars, but who has had to close his doors this past year. This original project, "One Drink, One Bartender" is a 100% non-profit initiative meant to give unemployed bartenders a second chance.

We will involve the community at different levels, first, by re-skilling these bartenders, empowering them to start over and reminding them why they fell in love with the industry in the first place. To do this, Luis will create 5 student grants every month for his school, donating his time and skills to train them. He's talked to top bars in Madrid who will offer "pasantías," guest shifts where these students can experience first hand the high-energy of Madrid's bar scene. We will activate this project by generating revenue with his "One Drink, One Bartender" Ketel One signature cocktail, a refreshing blend of Ketel One vodka, sherry, and a cordial made of garden tomato water. Bars will sell this cocktail, raising money to pay for the mentees' expenses, completing the circle and making the initiative self sustainable. To scale, we'll utilize our contacts in the main cities of Spain, involving top restaurants and cocktail bars.

One Drink One Bartender

Glass: Cocktail Glass - Nick and Nora
Garnish: Basil olive oil
Place 150g of Virgin olive oil with 18g fresh basil in a blender.
Put the hole mix in a saucepan (Thermomix ideal)and heat at 60º for 30 minutes.
Strain the solids and allow to cool.
Method: This is Basil olive oil special prep: Using a dropper or straw: serve 2 drops of basil olive oil over the surface of the cocktail once poured

40ml Ketel One Family Made Vodka
30ml Garden tomato cordial
20ml Fino/Manzanilla Sherry
2 drops Basil olive oil
