Where: Island of Rhodes, south Greece, 434 km from Athens
What: "I was born on the island of Rhodes- my parents have been immigrants from Egypt. In Rhodes, there's one of the largest communities of immigrants and refugees in the country, consisting of people with Asian & African backgrounds. Although they have been on the island for decades, the majority of them are lacking basic education & professional skills.
My main goal is to integrate them into the hospitality business, ensuring they have enough skills to become equal members of bar & restaurant teams.
How: I'm creating a Ketel One drink paying homage to immigrants from India, the largest community in my hometown. I've combined the crispy vodka from the Netherlands with flowers honey from Rhodes and Masala tea soda - the most popular drink among Indians. I've collaborated with three bars on the island, securing that 40% of my drinks' sales will be dedicated to funding bartending and hospitality courses via Fogcutters and Bar Academy platform.
My goal is to educate 12 people within the next 12 months. My goal is to make them feel valued members of one world, the hospitality world.
