"Mi Patio - Tu Patio" is a proposal to enhance the spaces of Casco Viejo by creating a garden to teach more people to produce local ingredients and supply better quality local ingredients to the rest of the bartender community.
Frequently, we still find some reminders of our grim past amidst our colorful and vibrant streets, in the form of run-down and disused spaces when we are walking. But fortunately, we have come a long way since then. This progress is largely thanks to investments from the hospitality community El Casco Viejo was considered an underprivileged red zone and a no-go area for tourists for many years.
We are resilient, and our local neighbors' association has been living proof of this through their Casco Garden project. They teach people in the community how to grow fruits, herbs, and plants in these abandoned spaces.
With Mi Patio – Tu Patio, my proposal to enhance these spaces to recreate and prepare to be something unique and vibrant.
My visión with Casco Garden where the soil and volunteer hands intertwine in a dance of growth and hope, this garden is not just a nature refuge, is a space for us to find flavors that will be include in our art. Mi Patio – Tu patio is a tribute for the bartenders community to connect and for the inspo; using supplies within our kilometer zero.
Mi Patio – Tu Patio, is being the first garden, but the mission include that more Patios enhance and more bartenders be reached.
Here comes, Mi Patio – Tu Patio where I teach AVACA and its volunteers how to use the fruits and herbs they produce for educational purposes and convert them into World Class-worthy cocktail ingredients for the best bars in the area.
By teaching AVACA and their volunteers how to transform their ingredients into tasty components with the support of the local kitchen studio, they can now sell these ingredients to my network of colleagues in the area at a convenient price.
As we expand the concept to other abandoned spaces, we will not only improve the image of Casco Viejo but also be able to teach more people to produce local ingredients and supply better quality local ingredients to the rest of the bartender community.
To support this, we are running an awareness campaign in all bars using our ingredients so tourists and local consumers can help fund the campaign using the QR code on our garnish.
