Chapter 8: Aymeric Ranoud

Draff

Draff is the name given to the spent grains from brewing and distilling. Often re-used as cattle feed or discarded altogether, French architect and furniture designer Aymeric Ranoud looked at making it into a more permanent product. His pioneering process turns the Draff into a usable and beautiful material which he then sculpt into furniture. With each piece unique in its look, Mark catches up with Aymeric at his studio about the process and his inspiration and why it is important to him to keep trying new things.
