Support services

We have six categories of support services to help individuals to achieve their goals and address personal issues.

Money

Support with managing income, whether that be tips for budgeting, practical help with gambling issues, access to a benefits calculator or financial grants* (not loans) to help with rent arrears or to pay for a new washing machine.

Mental Wellbeing

Emotional support via the helpline provides instant access to a trained counsellor who can offer individuals 6 free telephone counselling sessions should they need them.

Online help sheets include tips on topics such as resilience, mindfulness and managing work life balance to guide licensed trade people toward prioritising their mental health and maintaining mental wellness.

Housing

Practical advice is available both online and via the helpline for accommodation support in managing eviction, homelessness, finding somewhere to live and tied accommodation.

Our partnership with Anchor means we have a priority scheme in place so that we can place individuals over 55 years of age in secure and affordable accommodation.

Housing support includes help with building repairs and furniture to ensure your house feels like a home.

Health

Physical wellbeing is assisted through a partnership with The Fire Fighters Charity to provide online physical therapy and emotional support tailored to specific issues caused by poor physical health.

General health and nutrition tips are available and more specific needs can be supported through the helpline (such as aid for individuals and families affected by addiction and substance dependency).

Education

The Charity values the educational needs of the whole family and supports through a range of online hospitality courses to bolster qualifications of those within the trade. In addition, we can supply financial grants to help children of licensed trade people to pay for educational items like school uniforms, trips and meals; academic equipment and laptops; extra-curricular activities and travel.

Employment Support

Our help sheets deliver practical guidance for writing a CV, searching for a new job and how to do well in job interviews.

A partnership with Hospitality Jobs UK helps us to match hospitality people to available vacancies to secure jobseekers with a hospitality role.
