Guruprashanth Muddiyavar

Known to his friends as ‘Guru’, Guruprashanth's discovered his passion for bartending during his college days, leading him to start his bartending journey by joining the team of professionals in The Leela Palace, Kempinski, Bangalore in 2008. His thirst for knowledge and experience led him to Dubai in 2010 where he headed the bar team at One & Only The Palm, where he was awarded as Best Employee Of The Year 2011. Then at Dubai’s The Bahri Bar, Mina A'Salam Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah he was awarded “Best Bartender Of The Year-Middle East 2013” by Caterer Middle East.

Now he is taking a pride in building a World Class Bar in Bangalore, India for Brigade Hospitality on the 31st floor of World Trade Centre, South India’s tallest dining destination. He is striving to place this “high ultra-lounge” on the global beverage map.

Guru was a Finalist in the Peter F. Heering Sling Awards 2015.

Guruprashanth’s Lost & Found Tiger Sling

Glass: Highball glass wrapped in a striped tatami sheet symbolising tiger stripes
Garnish: Dehydrated orange slice, mint sprigs and sweet tamarind
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.

• 40 ml Rum
• 10 ml Gin
• 20 ml Cherry Heering
• 15 ml *Galangal & basil syrup
• 15 ml Sour tamarind juice
• 20 ml Pineapple juice
• 1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters

*Galangal & basil syrup: 10 grams of chopped galangal, 4-5 leaves of basil and 100ml simple syrup brought to the boil and then allowed to cool.
