Her passion for the spirits industry, conscious sustainability and storytelling paved the way for the cocktail menu at The Roof. Crystal has been a finalist in numerous cocktail competitions including Bombay Sapphire Most Imaginative Bartender, Woodford Manhattan Experience and Heaven Hill Bartender of the Year.
Her cocktails have appeared on Thrillist, Bravo TV, Supercall, Liquor.com, and Food & Wine. She was named Gin Magazine's Genever Ambassador of the Year 2019 and was honored to be the guest editor of Chilled Magazine. She was also featured in Forbes Magazine's Women Running the Liquor World.

1oz Dorothy Parker Gin*
.75 Clarified Lemon
.5oz Clarified grapefruit
Local Egg White*
Dragonfruit/Black Pepper* Dust
Prior to creating cocktail, spray coupe glass with citrus and dust half the glass with the Dragonfruit dust. Add all ingredients to tins except Dragonfruit Dust. Dry shake to froth egg whites. Add ice. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds. Double strain into chilled dusted coupe. Dust about half the top of the cocktail and finish with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds.

I wanted to develop a drink that was just as visually appealing as it was delicious as we tend to drink with our eyes first!
It is very integral to my style of bartending to be sustainable and using local products is a great way to do that as the products don't need to be shipped very far. I sourced fresh eggs at the Farmer's Market at McCarren Park, spices from a local spice shop and Gin from less than a mile away! All of these combined with the fresh bergamot brightness from Italics, Aquavits herbal quality and clarified fresh citrus create a vibrant cocktail that can be enjoyed over and over again.
Keeping with the sustainable practices I wanted to make sure my garnish was also a part of the beverage experience so the Dragonfruit Black Pepper dust and Sesame seeds are designed to be a part of every sip. This enhances the nose of the drink while also creating beautiful tropical layers that pair perfectly with Italicus.
