A lockdown idea created by couple John and Georgina, Goldstone Rum was born with the intention of changing their lives for the better and bringing a new and creative product to the market.
Lockdown allowed many of us time to reflect on our lives and re-evaluate what we deemed important. For John and Georgina, wanted to leave the corporate world and put their energy into becoming their own bosses by building a sustainably-led company that would allow them to spend more time with their family.
Until 2011, John was working as a classically trained chef, experimenting with flavours and being creative. Due to a dislike of the unsocial hours of the job, he now works within the corporate world of aviation and IT and is a Chief Commercial Officer.
Since 2010, Georgina has worked within the marketing industry, helping to build some of the nation's best-loved brands. This background, coupled with growing up in a family-run pub has given her an understanding of what makes a rum drinker tick and how best to market Goldstone Rum.
The couple have two young daughters and they hope to inspire them by taking her dreams and making them a reality.
The first bottle of Goldstone Rum was lovingly made in December 2022 and since then has won a Silver Medal at The London Spirits Competition 2023 and a star at The Great Taste Awards 2023.
Although still a fledgeling brand, you can find Goldstone Rum in restaurants, bars and off-licenses across Sussex and increasingly further afield.
