Following a recent carbon footprint appraisal on the best selling products last year, Franklin & Sons have completed a full operational carbon footprint analysis which has led to targets being discussed to reduce emissions.

Natural Ingredients

Inspired by the natural diversity of the world, Franklin & Sons products feature natural flavour extracts and juices, free from preservatives, artificial additives, and sweeteners. Sugar is Red Tractor accredited, sourced from local UK farms and the sugar content in many products is now less than 5g/100ml. Wherever possible products are vegan-friendly and gluten free.

Water Supply

In order to improve sustainability efforts, supply chains have been improved and water is now sourced from the Haweswater Reservoir in Cumbria. This change guarantees strict regulation and taste and has removed 120 tanker journeys each year as well as lowering material transportation emissions by 63%. Lengthy supply chains mean it is critical to use ethical sourcing and Franklin & Sons are committed to a strong stance against modern slavery and trafficking.

Packaging

With minimal plastic usage, Franklin & Sons packaging mainly consists of aluminium, cardboard and glass which are all curb-side recyclable. Paper labels are 100% recyclable and the shrink wrap used is made from 30% recycled materials and is also 100% recyclable.

Social Pledge

Being one of the first to join with organisation So Let's Talk, who are committed to increasing mental, physical and financial well-being within the industry, Franklin & Sons help to fund this approach. Royal Society for Public Health research shows that 1 in 5 hospitality workers suffer from severe work-related mental health issues, with 84% experiencing increased stress. Franklin & Sons provide training to teams and supported customer training with So Let's Talk to increase awareness and access to knowledge on these subjects.
