This family owned Cognac house was established at the end of the 19th century by Samuel Beau. When he died just before war broke out in 1914, his son Paul took over the business, along with his wife Denise, who also came from a family of wine growers. The Paul Beau brand name was launched in 1977 when the family started marketing their own cognacs, rather than just supplying larger Cognac Houses.

Paul Beau cognacs are single estate with all wine making, distillation and ageing carried out on the estate, which is just over 100 hectares, exclusively in Grande Champagne.
