After working his way through the Hong Kong & Macau national final and two testing days against 30 other finalists from across the globe, Maxim Schulte from The Ritz-Carlton Macau Bar & Lounge emerged as Global Winner of Beefeater MIXLDN 7.
Maxim won the chance to work with “the godfather of gins”, Beefeater Master Distiller Desmond Payne MBE, to create his own limited-edition gin.
Maxim has won a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with industry godfather, Desmond Payne, to lean more abut gin and gin distillation, as well as create his very own gin. Working at Beefeater’s Distillery in Kennington, South London, Maxim will learn about the intricacies of making delicious gin from the selection of juniper berries to the art of distillation. Schulte’s limited-edition gin will then be displayed at the distillery for visitors from all over the world to purchase. Maxim will also be given bottles of his gin to his bar for friends, family and customers to sample.
Maxim Schulte said, “My Stack of Fortune cocktail ass certainly bought me good luck. I’ve already got some ideas up my sleeve for my limited-edition gin and I’m looking forward to being able to learn from a legend like Desmond Payne.”
