Giffard West Cup is one of the foremost international bartending competitions. Founded in 1997, the competition first took place on the west coast of France (hence the name), but it quickly grew in popularity, and now encompasses 17 countries and counting.

Giffard West Cup focuses on the 'art of mixing' at its heart. Held biennially, the competition commences with regional stages followed by national finals where the national winning bartender is crowned. The winner is then invited to compete at the global final in France to represent their country.

This year, we’re honoured to be accepting the UK entries, find out more below.

How the competition works

Two heats will be hosted by Giffard in the UK, one in Manchester and one in London.

Contest No.1 - Less is more

As the name suggests, all contestants are required to submit a cocktail using only two main ingredients, one of which must be a Giffard Liqueur (along with fruit, bitters and tonic or soda). This is your chance to deliver a simplistic yet delicious cocktail whilst demonstrating the true art of mixing.
