The Palais Bénédictine is the most-visited tourist attraction in Normandy. Along with the distillery, which still makes every bottle of Bénédictine sold around the world, you can tour the building and see Le Grand’s collection of sculptures, paintings and other religious art. Once adorning medieval churches and monasteries, this is one of the largest such collections in France and is housed in grandly opulent room after grand room. Amongst the relics is a book on alchemy from 1550, believed to have come from the Bénédictine abbey. The tour costs a mere €7 and includes a tasting.
