This distillery was established in 1898, but has closed and re-opened several times since. Built close to the ancient market town of Forres, Benromach can be spotted from the Forres by-pass (A96 Aberdeen to Inverness) by its white buildings and distinctive red brick chimney, which is nearly 100 feet tall. The distillery was bought in 1993 by Gordon & MacPhail and re-opened in 1998, its centenary year.
