Pier 50, Shed B,
The June 2005 launch of No. 209 Gin started with the discovery of a 19th century distillery building six years earlier. What had then turned into a disused barn inspired an entrepreneur to embark on a quest to re-launch a long forgotten distillery name and to create a very special gin, made using traditional artisanal methods. The result is the reborn Distillery No. 209 and its gin.
Distillery No. 209 sits in a renovated 1920’s warehouse on Pier 50 which stretches out over the waters of San Francisco Bay. 209 is thought to be the only distillery in the world that is built over water and the 13 feet of bay water beneath the pier ensure a constant air temperature is maintained within the distillery throughout the year. Perfect for distilling.
The Pier sits in the heart of San Francisco in the shadow of AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, winners of the 2014 World Series.
