good and truly very fruit-forward but not my style. something about Calvados or Applejack to me doesn't blend well with fruity bubbles. The only time I use Calvados, cognac or brandy is in an Atomic that is made very dry with brut and nothing fruity.
mad love. The best bitter-using preprandial and my new sub for an amaro spritz. I did not have the brand name red bitter but used Selecto. Also used lemon marmalade that was very syrupy (Litaly) and Ruggeri Prosecco. Oh how I am so happy I did not repurpose the marmalade. Fabulosity! Ok, off to put a bigger dent in that bubbly.
dry but not austere. my go-to when I am in a mood for something serious and toeing the edge of mean. like my mood. then it blooms into satisfaction. I adjust using different wines, from brut to demi-sec and love each of the variations. I also use a smooth but not overly fruity brandy, or herbal vodka or a golden semi-dry sherry to a good quality oaked sherry or even Dry Sack. All good results and effective to get the job done.
