I muddled a small slice of scotch bonnet with the coriander and Silver tequila. It was a fabulously refreshing drink with a background of chilli heat. Fantastic
Visited the Bols Museum in Amsterdam and lucky enough to get to sample all the genevers, this 6 yr old was a favourite and bar staff mixed an old fashioned for my husband, a whisky lover. Brought a bottle home as it is just a beautiful drink. If you’re a whisky fan I think you’d like this.
There are lots of bars serving cocktails but few decent cocktail bars where I live. I love going to a bar where you know the bar tender really understands the craft of cocktail making. I was in a bar in Newcastle last week when I asked for a classic martini, the young lady who made it for me was keen to hear my views because it was only the second one she had ever made, it was very, very good and we had a great discussion about what makes a perfect martini. I’ve learned so much from using Difford’s Guide!
Just a touch on the sweet side but very smooth and quite classic
I added 5ml of syrup from a tin of lychees and it’s be a great long drink
Like others, I’d say it depends on sweetness of orange juice. But loved the way the apricot filtered through.
Refreshing cocktail. Hint of sweetness
Lovely way to use up leftover Cava at breakfast!
Wow! Perfect Christmas cocktail, very, very drinkable .
Enjoyed this, good balance of orange & apricot
Fabulous Christmas cocktail, subtly dry and a hint of sweetness. Not my usual tipple but can certainly recommend.
Love this when I’m in the mood for rum. Perfect balance and looks really impressive when you serve it to guests.
I found this a perfect blend of mint and Bacardi, just having the one I think. Sour but backnotes of sweetness made this a great take on a ‘small’ mojito
For me it’s a perfect Christmas cocktail, less potent than a ‘preferred dry martini’ but just on the verge of being too sweet.
I used the recipe from the 16th edition, 45ml each rum and gin, 15 ml grenadine and lemon juice. Fabulous cocktail, just the right side of sour for me. Pretty potent though!
This is the book which takes cocktail making at home to a whole new level! You learn so many new skills and definitely the Christmas present which keeps on giving. Thankyou Simon and good luck with the 16th edition xx
The absinthe in the background adds another dimension, loved this and surprisingly refreshing
Lovely balance, the elderflower balances the citrus and the pisco definitely shines.
I love the background notes which the Falernum gives this cocktail. Great balance and sure to become a favourite
Great balance of sweet and sour. One of my new favourites
Great balance , amaretto adds a touch of sweetness. My first bourbon based cocktail and it’s a pretty good introduction
Fabulous cocktail. Will try with the creme de violette and see which I prefer.
