Hi John. Having used this wonderful site for a couple of years, I have to say your comments are the ones I look at before trying a new cocktail! Have just had 2 pompanskis so best save a salty dog for another night!

Not horrible, but all I can taste is banana (which is, to me, what bourbon tastes like - and banana is not my favourite flavour)! For me, not sure the bitters made any difference. One for our American cousins, I think!

Since discovering this wonderful website (a Friday night lockdown discovery - even COVID had a silver lining!!) and working our way through numerous cocktails, this is the first cocktail that I’ve poured away. I suppose it had to happen one day! (If my opinion is worth anything - found it too sweet and slightly artificial- not going to try alternative tequilas etc. - still got plenty of others to try on a Friday night!).

I love this website - so clear and easy to use. Thank you Simon! Anyway, Very nicely balanced cocktail - although we did reduce the sugar syrup based on John Hinojos’ comment below - good call! This worked for us. A new favourite!
