I made this because I wanted to make a Vieux Carre, but I didn’t want to open a new bottle of sweet vermouth. It is good, I made it with Amaro Nonino since that’s what I had. I do miss having the vermouth and a Vieux Carre.

I had seen this on Difford’s a few weeks ago while looking at things to use Luxardo in, and I starred it. We had a cocktail night with some good friends last night with the guy who had introduced us to the Paper Plane a couple of years ago. I had told him about it and he said “let’s do it!” I made it with Four Roses Single Barrel and Nonino. We all really enjoyed it!!

Was OK. I prefer the cleanliness of the gin to shine through I guess. Love Roku gin, so figured I’d try it this way. I’ll go back to my simple Gibson’s from now on. That said, a good drink is how you like it, so give this one a try!

Tried this and liked it! Even the wife (not typically a bourbon lover) enjoyed this.
