This is pretty amazing! If you're a campari fan, the espresso and Licor43 add a dimension I've not tasted before. The espresso takes a lesser role than expected but only so the Campari can be the star. Vaguely sweet and orange but only to support the bitter structure of the cocktail.
The espresso doesn't vanish but melds completely into the Fruity bitterness.

This will be on our list of weekend day cocktails. It seems related to the Negroni but lighter and so refreshing.

Refreshing and delicious! The flavors balance beautifully. I used Doorly's Barbados rum, rich Cuban espresso, Licor 43, and my own coffee/chocolate bitters. The spiced, vanilla flavors compliment the espresso and rum without being especially sweet and the coffee is solid without over powering. This is a memorable alternative to our favorite espresso martini. Definitely will be on our regular holiday afternoon repertoire.

It’s tasty and crisp and clean. The vanilla and Orange bitters notes are a good combo with the gin. Great summery choice—cool and refreshing—a bit too drinkable—in such a good way.

Just as an added note, if you’re running low on Aperol, which I often am in the summer, Amaro de Toscana makes a very suitable substitute. It changes the profile, adding a more earthy, anise footing but entirely enjoyable.
