Outstanding. I added a bit of ginger liquer too, and a shake of Peach butters… good balance of sweet and sour. A winner.

Very good indeed. But garnished mine with a dried apple slice and a sprinkle of powdered cinnamon.
This also works just as well with white rum…
Agreed. Better is berries are muddled first. This is now stipulated above. Many thanks.
And a promotion to four stars!
;-)
This is very good- better than 3.5 stars! I’ve made it a few times now and it’s better if berries muddled first; and if you are one of those people who doesn’t like too strong an aniseed flavour- don’t worry. It’s quite subtle; and you can always add a bit more vanilla syrup.
Pretty good. Maybe could use a tiny bit of sugar syrup? I used Nocello as had no Frangelico- which are quite similar of course.
This is one of the greats. However I was out of falernum… so I used a splash of cinnamon syrup and a splash of pimento dram. Next level. Awesome.
This is one of my faves. Went to make it today after a nice swim but had lunch no spiced rum- so I used Bacardi Coconut Rum instead to increase the tropical vibe. Outstanding. I think this should be a new recipe variation that I will call the Bent Banana.
I still say this is the best ever. I recently obtained a bottle of mulberry gin- looking forward to trying that as a variant.
There aren’t may ingredients I don’t have- but pineapple syrup was one. I considered passionfruit syrup for a variety (Simon- you can call that “The Great Man” and publish it)…! But instead I used the Planation Pineapple Rum- and it turned out well! The cinnamon is a good touch.
This is a good drink. I was a bit dubious about orange and scotch- but it’s very good and refreshing. A real sunny afternoon drink.
Nice- simple but very enjoyable.
Sounds great but mine was very sour - even by my standards. Could have just been a high- powered lemon. Will try again with maybe a bit more sugar syrup….
Very nice. I’m going to try it again with rye or Canadian whisky too - I always find bourbon a bit sweet. I added a shake of Fee Bros Black Walnut Bitters to punch up the walnut flavour.
I made this with Luxardo sour green apple liquer. Not sure if the made a big difference- but what a drink. Simon- you must consider promoting this to 5-stars. Great drink!
Just put a splob of honey in a coffee cup, pour on a splash of water from the kettle and stir it up- use it promptly and shake-shake. Easy-peasy.
Outstanding.
My missus doesn’t like any thing with egg- whites: so I shook it up without for her , then added a splash for me and shook it up again. Excellent either way. Some may like a dash of sugar syrup also. Anyway- a great recipe.
The drink was good- anything with passionfruit is a winner.
Why is it that anything I put grenadine in turns out much redder than your pics?
This os a great drink. Awesome.
I didn’t have Tuaca but used Liqor 43. Very good. Orange peel is essential though- don’t leave it out.
Not bad. A little sweet and red. Maybe a bit less grenadine next time and a bit more grapefruit.
Not bad. Fresh OJ is a must. I am tempted to try it again with a spoon of apricot jam in the recipe.
Not bad! Better than the rating suggests. The banana is subtle at that amount- I used Massenez which are always good. Didn’t have cinnamon syrup so used a shake of cinnamon powder and simple syrup which would be more or less the same. Nice.
Good lad Simon!
