A blend of Irish grain whiskey matured in ex-bourbon-barrels and triple distilled malt matured in sherry-seasoned casks, both matured for 45 months, after blending the Red Earl then spends a minimum four-month marrying period in ex-Rioja casks.
Rioja was chosen for its spicy fruity notes and as and as a mark of respect to the resting place of Red Hugh himself near Spain's Rioja region.
