Difford's Guide

alc./vol: 0.5%

Proof:

Vintage: Non-vintage

Aged: No age statement

Bolle is a non-alcoholic sparkling wine made with double-fermented wine, so capturing the flavours from the grapes, the terroir and the wine-making process. The wine is de-alcoholised using vacuum distillation.

Winemaker Roberto Vanin uses a patent-pending double fermentation process, and Bolle is the world's only non-alcoholic wine that's twice fermented (as is champagne). The blend comprises a minimum of 75% Chardonnay and the balance from Silvaner grapes.

There are no added flavourings, colours or sugar.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/11/2024

Appearance:

Clear golden yellow with slow rising bubbles and ring of foam.

Aroma:

Apple and pears, yeasty white wine vinegar, citrus and toasty aromas.

Taste:

Dry. Lemon fresh vinous notes, white wine vinegar with mild acidity and a light toasty brioche.

Aftertaste:

Lemony citrus notes and delicate acidity linger with light minerality and pleasing toasty brioche.

Overall:

The cork has that familiar celebratory pop and Bolle is a good alternative to an alcoholic sparkling wine.
