Bolle Rosé

Difford's Guide

alc./vol: 0.5%

Proof:

Vintage: Non-vintage

Aged: No age statement

Bolle is a non-alcoholic sparkling wine made with double-fermented wine, so capturing the flavours from the grapes, the terroir and the wine-making process. The wine is de-alcoholised using vacuum distillation.

Wine Maker Roberto Vanin uses a patent-pending double fermentation process, and Bolle is the world's only alcohol-free wine that's twice fermented (as is champagne). The blend comprises a minimum of 75% Chardonnay, with the balance being Pinot Noir, both from La Mancha in Spain.

There are no added flavourings, colours or sugar.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/11/2024

Appearance:

Clear, coppery pink with rising bubbles.

Aroma:

White-like with strawberry, blackcurrant, rosemary and faint floral violet.

Taste:

Strawberry and rosemary with light white wine vinger-like acidity.

Aftertaste:

Ripe strawberry and white balsamic acidity.

Overall:

A good example of a non-alcoholic alternative to a sparkling rose wine with much of the flavour you'd expect and all of the pop, mouthfeel and effervescence.
